Kaweco BRASS Sport CONNECT Disc Stylus

Product information "Kaweco BRASS Sport CONNECT Disc Stylus"

The impressive heavyweight of the Sport series, the BRASS Sport, is turned from first-class brass and is now available as CONNECT stylus only at Mostwanted Pens. The Connect Stylus version is especially for digital writing and  for use on all displays with touch function.  It impresses with precision when writing, typing, drawing and Co.  Weighing 44 grams the stylus is the heaviest Kaweco pen. Cap and barrel are manufactured in two complex processes to create this stunning piece of German engineering.

All CONNECT STYLUS writing instruments can be converted to fountain pens with a Kaweco 060 replacement nib in various nib sizes.

In the beginning of the industrial age pens were made of hard rubber. Ebonite, as it was also called, was only polished. Even brass was already used for pen parts. But it was more for the trimmings such as clip and decorative rings. Only the cartridge technology made it possible to reflect on other materials since the ink does not directly and permanently come into contact with the metals. So in daily use the brass can develop its natural patina. Around 1550 brass was “cast” in a targeted way for the first time and thus offered a variety of applications.

When closed, the fountain pen is very resistant due to the robust material. The feel of the steel is supple and the brushed stainless steel also makes the fountain pen look visually powerful. All CONNECT STYLUS writing instruments can be converted to fountain pens with a Kaweco 060 replacement nib in various nib sizes. The first sport models in 1911 were round but the basic idea was the same. A fountain pen, which can be carried around in the bag without leaking. So the first Kaweco sport was designed in pocket format. The highlight: By attaching the cap you could extend the pen to a comfortable size. In 1935, the octagonal cap, as known from today, was introduced to the market in combination with the round shaft. The fountain pen of that time was still a piston fountain pen, so equipped with a pull system for ink. Today's fountain pen works with cartridges, but on closer inspection the design elements of a piston fountain pen at the end of the barrel can be spotted.
