Kaweco PERKEO fountain pen Retro Block

Product information "Kaweco PERKEO fountain pen Retro Block"

Kawecco PERKEO calligraphy set blue with 3 front parts in the nib sizes 1.1mm, 1.5mm and 1.9mm and very easy switch. The design comes from the classic Kaweco tradition. The matte 8-sided cap and the matte 16-sided shank harmonize perfectly with each other. The color concept is particularly well thought out, which makes it possible to differentiate between the different nib sizes of the front parts. Due to the ergonomically shaped front part, the calligraphy set is particularly suitable for beginners and students and allows easy comfortable writing.

The fountain pen works with Kaweco ink cartridges which can be found under Kaweco ink. Alternatively, a Kaweco standard converter can be used.

The Kaweco PERKEO fountain pen can be found in the history around 1900. In the catalog of the Heidelberger Federhalterfabrik, which was later renamed Kaweco, it is described as a changeover pen in the function. The PERKEO was designed as this and as a cartridge fountain pen.

Already 5000 years ago the Egyptians have written on papyrus reeds with rushes. The Chinese also have written in 2600 BC with some kind of laquer and a bamboo pole. In the Roman Empire the Iron gall ink was invented but had the disadvantage when the paper decomposed with the age. The so-called "ink corrosion" originated. This type of ink have long been in use. When the first metal nibs were invented in 1750 the recipe needed to be changed because the steel springs rusted immediately with that ink. To date, the ink has been greatly developed and scientifically perfected so it has a perfect flow behaviour.
