The Kaweco SKETCH UP has a comfortable weight for writing and drawing because it is made out of brass. The raw version of the SKETCH UP is made without surface protection and the pen becomes a patina with the time. If you don't like that you can also go for the satin-chrome version.

For the Kaweco clutch pencil there are many matching 5.6 mm leads here at mostwanted.

The earliest preserved exemplar of a mechanical pencil was found in the wreck of HMS Pandora which sank in 1791. The frigate was sent out to arrest the mutineers of the Bounty.

Kaweco has been producing all kinds of mechanical pencils since the beginning of the 19th century. The Kaweco clutch pencils have become very popular in the fifties, the heyday of technical drawing. Until this very day the clutch pencils of the SKETCH UP series have been a pleasure drawing pencil.
