The Kaweco SKETCH UP has a comfortable weight for writing and drawing because it is made out of brass. The raw version of the SKETCH UP is made without surface protection and the pen becomes a patina with the time. If you don't like that you can also go for the satin-chrome version.

For the Kaweco clutch pencil there are many matching 5.6 mm leads here at mostwanted.

The earliest preserved exemplar of a mechanical pencil was found in the wreck of HMS Pandora which sank in 1791. The frigate was sent out to arrest the mutineers of the Bounty.
