The production of the coat is complex, because after a specially developed recipe for Pelikan is made of cotton material in many steps, a striped piece of material that is bent, ground and then cut with a diamond to contour. Then the characteristic double rings are fitted with the utmost precision, resulting in a nearly seamless transition between the materials before the writing instrument is polished to a high gloss. The last step is to mount the slightly springy beak clip with the famous, stylized pelican. The pencil is equipped with a hi-polymer refill and a replaceable eraser. For the lead feed provides a push mechanism. The fittings are 24 kt. gilded.

The mechanical pencil has a length of 13.6 cm and weighs 17.8 g.
