The production of the coat is complex, because after a specially developed recipe for Pelikan is made of cotton material in many steps, a striped piece of material that is bent, ground and then cut with a diamond to contour. Then the characteristic double rings are fitted with the utmost precision, resulting in a nearly seamless transition between the materials before the writing instrument is polished to a high gloss.
