These are not filled with ink cartridges but can be filled with an ink glass. The Pelikan fountain pens are e.g. partially available with both writing systems here. In Germany the manufacturers Friedrich Soennecken 1871 and Kaweco 1883 began with the production of dip pens; Both companies were in the first years the most important supplier in Germany. On February 12, 1884, the age of fountain pens began. On this day, Lewis Edison Waterman announced the patent for the ink guide.
